ShapeReach View / G-code
A free G-code viewer in your browser.
Open G-code from 3D printers and CNC machines right in your browser, and see the tool path in 3D. Nothing to install, no account, and the file stays on your own computer.
- .gcode
- .gco
- .nc
About the G-code format
G-code is the language most CNC machines and 3D printers are controlled with. Each line is a command, such as a move to a point or along an arc.
Slicers write G-code for 3D printers, and CAM programs write it for mills, lathes and cutting machines. The files are typically called .gcode, .gco or .nc.
What the viewer shows
- The tool path as lines in 3D
- Straight moves and arcs (G2 and G3)
- Programs in millimetres and inches and with relative moves
- Printer programs with and without relative extrusion
How to open a G-code file
Open the viewer
Press “Open a G-code file”. The viewer opens with a sample assembly.
Pick the file
Press Open and choose the file, or drag the file into the viewer.
See the path
Rotate and zoom with the mouse to see the path from every side.
Good to know
The viewer shows the path, not the material. It does not simulate the milling or the printed part.
Questions and answers
Can I see whether the program is right?
The viewer shows the path the program describes, so you can see the shape and spot obvious mistakes. It does not simulate the machine and does not replace a check in the machine or the CAM program.
Which file extensions can be opened?
.gcode, .gco and .nc.
